Health Care and Clean Water

Lack of access to clean drinking water is one of the causes of multiple preventable diseases. Poor drinking water leads to health problems and prevents children from attending school and parents from caring for their children. Beyond the Camp (BTC) is committed to helping prevent Malaria, typhoid, intestinal worms, and dehydration through clean drinking water. Many refugees do not have access to basic medication or health professionals.

What We Do

Clean Water Saves Lives
Refugees face illness and death from preventable diseases like typhoid and malaria. For just $2.25, BTC can provide clean water to 100 children at school.

Basic Health Care Can Save a Life

Refugees often suffer from untreated conditions like stomach pain, diabetes, gynecological issues, injuries from violence, and vision loss. For just $10, a refugee can see a doctor, and $11–$14 is often enough to cure a child of typhoid or malaria — saving lives and restoring hope.

Mental Health Matters

When Ruth dropped out of high school in Rwanda due to mental health struggles, BTC stepped in. With $1,600, we provided psychological care and two weeks of hospitalization, helping her recover and return to school with confidence.

Small Gifts Make Big Impacts

Access to diagnostics and treatment changes lives. We helped Francoise and Liesse receive MRIs in Rwanda and Uganda for $350, and for just $112.68, Ezechiel at Nakivale Refugee Camp regained his vision — and his independence.

A gift of just $10–$20 can provide treatment for typhoid or malaria, giving a refugee child a real chance at recovery and a healthier future.

Restore Vision with One Gift

Many refugees suffer from untreated vision problems. For $115, you can provide prescription glasses and restore the gift of clear sight.
